Wycombe Wanderers finally broke their home duck in League One with a 2-0 victory over Notts County at Adams Park. They are currently seven points behind league leaders Bradford.

Manager T. Hounsell set his side up in a 3-5-2 formation and saw them dominate the contest from the outset. Wycombe controlled 54 percent of possession and created the bulk of the chances, registering 15 shots to the visitors' four. The pressure told just before the interval when Notts County's Max Sanders turned the ball into his own net in the 44th minute.

Onyedinma puts it to bed

Notts County, managed by M. Paterson, made a flurry of second-half substitutions in an attempt to change the game's momentum. Wycombe, however, remained the more threatening side and wrapped up the win with four minutes of normal time remaining. Daniel Harvie provided the assist for Fred Onyedinma to fire home in the 86th minute, confirming the striker's status as the club's top scorer this season with his fourth league goal.

The result ends a run of five home games without a win in the league this campaign, where Wycombe had previously drawn three and lost two. It also marks a positive response to the heavy 1-4 defeat suffered against Luton Town in their previous outing on Saturday 10 October, a match in which Jack Grimmer scored a late consolation. The team's recent form now reads three wins and one draw from their last five matches, following a sequence of results that includes a 4-1 win over Bristol Rovers, a 2-2 draw with Reading, and a 1-0 win at Wigan. This run has helped them amass 13 points from their opening 10 fixtures, scoring 16 goals but conceding 20 for a goal difference of minus four.

Defender Jack Grimmer received Wycombe's only booking of the match in the 22nd minute for a foul.

The club has confirmed the details of the goals conceded in their 1-4 defeat to Luton Town on 10 October. Tottenham Hotspur's official website detailed the contribution of their on-loan forward Jamie Donley, who set up Kasey Palmer's 16th-minute opener and scored Luton's second himself in the 27th minute. Donley "curled a sumptuous left-footed strike into the top corner," according to the Spurs site. The result contributed to Wycombe's current tally of 20 goals conceded this season.

The club has confirmed the details of the goals from the 2-0 win over Notts County on 17 October. Wycombe stated that the opening goal, initially credited as an own goal by Max Sanders, was in fact scored by captain Jack Grimmer, whose long-range strike took a deflection. The club confirmed Grimmer's goal, his second in as many games, and Fred Onyedinma's 86th-minute header from a Daniel Harvie flick. The attendance at Adams Park was 5,519, with 1,104 away supporters.
