The substitutes
David Stockdale, an unused substitute at Wembley, later became Wycombe's first-choice goalkeeper before leaving for Sheffield Wednesday. He is now manager of non-league side Farsley. Sido Jombati, a cult hero among supporters, continued playing in non-league football after leaving Wycombe, most recently with Salisbury. Giles Phillips, after loan spells with Aldershot Town, joined the club permanently in 2021. Spells with Oxford City, Waterford, and Ebbsfleet United followed, and he now plays for Hornchurch.
Alex Pattison, limited by injuries during his time at Wycombe, later played for Harrogate Town and Bradford City. He recently joined Walsall. Curtis Thompson, a serious knee injury disrupted his Wycombe career before he left in 2023. Since then, he has played for Cheltenham Town and Grimsby Town and now turns out for Spalding United. Nick Freeman, after seven years at Wycombe, left the club in 2024 and is now with AFC Wimbledon.
