Tom Hounsell has been shortlisted for the League One Manager of the Month award after a superb start as Wycombe Wanderers' interim head coach. The 31-year-old has guided the team to four wins and a draw from his five games in charge across all competitions, lifting them to 12th in the table.
Hounsell took over from Michael Duff and is yet to lose a match. His league record stands at seven points from a possible nine, a run that includes last Saturday's emphatic victory over Bristol Rovers.
Award shortlist reflects league recognition
Wycombe's interim boss is one of five managers in contention for the monthly honour, alongside Graham Alexander of Bradford City, Gary Bowyer of Burton Albion and Leam Richardson of Reading. Leyton Orient's Jaze Kabia leads the Player of the Month nominations.
"I'm delighted to be shortlisted for the award - it's a great honour," Hounsell said.
The nomination arrives as Wycombe prepare for their next League One challenge. They host Luton Town this Saturday. The Chairboys' recent form provides a solid platform for that Adams Park encounter.
