Wycombe Wanderers head coach Michael Duff praised striker Cauley Woodrow after his half-time introduction helped secure a 1-1 draw against Plymouth Argyle at Adams Park.
Woodrow's Impact
Woodrow replaced Junior Quitirna at the break and immediately increased the attacking threat, helping Wycombe fight back to earn a 1-1 draw. Will Evans gave Plymouth the lead on 25 minutes, but Connor Taylor equalised in the final 15 minutes with a header from an Ewan Henderson cross.
Tactical Shift
Duff said Woodrow’s introduction was part of a wider tactical adjustment aimed at a more direct approach. He highlighted the importance of playing forward earlier and noted Woodrow’s movement helped create more problems for Plymouth’s defence.
Coach's Assessment
Duff revealed Woodrow had only recently returned to training after a calf issue last Thursday and had done very little training, so he was not ready to start. "I thought he was good," Duff said. He added that Woodrow, a former Luton Town and Barnsley forward, could influence proceedings from the bench and that "all of the substitutes did that."
