Wycombe Wanderers’ Chairgirls were crowned champions of the Southern Region Women’s Football League when a 2-2 draw between Winchester City Flyers and AFC Portchester made it mathematically impossible for any other club to overtake them. The Chairgirls finished the season with 14 wins, three draws and three losses, amassing 45 points.
Promotion to the National League
The title win secured the Chairgirls’ promotion to the National League, the fourth tier of English women’s football. Mark Gaitskell, CEO of the Wycombe Wanderers Foundation, celebrated the achievement, saying, “We are delighted to finally get across that finish line and achieve promotion to Tier Four.”
