Wycombe Wanderers' Chairgirls have officially been crowned champions of the Southern Region Women's Football League following a weekend of thrilling results. Their title was confirmed when Winchester City Flyers and AFC Portchester played to a 2-2 draw, making it mathematically impossible for the Chairgirls to be caught at the top of the table. This remarkable season saw the team achieve 14 wins, three draws, and three losses, culminating in their promotion to the National League. Mark Gaitskell, CEO of the Wycombe Wanderers Foundation, expressed his delight at the team's success, highlighting the hard work that led to this achievement. He stated, "We are delighted to finally get across that finish line and achieve promotion to Tier Four." First team manager Carl Simon also shared his joy, noting that a club like Wycombe Wanderers deserves to compete at the National League level. He praised the squad's resilience, especially during a challenging injury crisis, and thanked everyone involved in the club's journey. With 45 points, 74 goals, and the best defensive record in the league, the Chairgirls' championship win is a testament to their dedication and teamwork. Congratulations to the Chairgirls on this historic achievement!
