Wycombe Wanderers have secured the services of defender Josh Knight for the rest of the Championship season. The player's loan from Leicester City, which began in October, has been extended beyond its initial January expiry to cover the entire campaign.
Manager Gareth Ainsworth highlighted Knight's importance to the side. "He has featured regularly for Gareth Ainsworth’s side this season and has so far made Championship appearances," Ainsworth said.
Knight has been a consistent presence in the Wycombe backline, making league appearances since his arrival. He originally joined the Leicester Academy as a youth and made his first-team debut for the Foxes in a Carabao Cup win over Sheffield United. He was part of the Under-21s group that won the Hong Kong Soccer Sevens tournament and signed a new contract with Leicester.
His extended stay provides stability for a Wycombe side preparing for an Emirates FA Cup third-round tie against Preston North End at Adams Park. Fans can follow the team's progress in the competition and check the full fixtures schedule. The next fixture after the cup tie is a league match against Accrington Stanley.
The club currently sits in League One with points from games. Wycombe's recent form shows wins from their last outings.
